
Wangfu Rock
There are two human-shaped rocks standing on the hill along the bank of Li River. The higher rock looking like a man is the husband, the one below on the slope, looking like a woman carrying a baby and yearning for her husband, is the wife. There is a legend about these two rocks. It is said that these two rocks used to be a good couple that made their living by operating a ferry. Once, the husband was asked to ship goods for a cunning merchant from Wuchow to Guilin. Although the family was supplied with limited food, they still set out. Their boat was stranded in a shallow for the terrible weather. They made every effort to move the boat out of the shallow, but they failed. What's more, their food was eaten up due to the unexpected delay. At last, they had to climbed up the hilltop in the hope of the passing boats would rescue them. Consequently, their hope was poured into the Li River for no boats passing there. According to this sad legend, the man-like rock on the hilltop was named "Immortal Rock", and the other woman-like one below on the slope was called "Wangfu Rock", which meaning yearning for her husband's go back from far away.

Crown Cave
Crown Cave gets this name for its shape looking like a crown. It is located in Caoping Village in the 29 kilometers south of Guilin. The cave has been standing on the bank of the Li River for hundreds of years; there are countless poets, scholars and writers have visited. It is said that Xu Xiake, an ancient traveler in china, was the first visitor to the cave in 1637. The cave lasts 12 kilometers, but only 3 kilometers near the river can be explored due to the perennial obscuration. However, for the same reason, the cave could be well preserved. In the cave, stalagmites stand everywhere, very grotesque and magic, just like a fairyland. An underground stream whose deepest spot over 10 meters originating from Mt.Haiyang pours into the Li River from the Crown Cave. Despite the beautiful sceneries, the cave is equipped with an automatic light and sound system. Besides, many modern facilities are also installed in the cave , such as a railroad car, yacht, and sightseeing elevator. All these devices will make visitors have a pleasure and convenient trip in there.

One-side Ferry
One-side Ferry is located on the west bank of the Li River, 43kilometers away from Guilin. A 400-meter-high huge rock point into the clouds and it stands into the river and cuts off a footpath by the water edge. On each side of the rock, there is a village. These two unique villages are Crown Cave village and Taoyuan village. They are obstructed by the rock, so the come-and-go between them totally depends on ferryboat. The ferries of these two villages are on the same side of the river, instead of opposite sides. The name of "One-side Ferry" just comes from here.

Mural Hill
Mural Hill is 536.3meters high, and is a cliff in shape of nine horses, so it gets such a name; its full name is "Nine Horses Mural Hill". It is located 61 kilometers from Guilin. Mural Hill has attracted a lot of poets and artists since Tang Dynasty. Ruan Yuan, a famous scholar in Qing Dynasty, once visited Mural Hill five times when he was Governor of Guangdong and Guangxi Province. There is also a beautiful legend about the nine horses on the hill. Once, a herdsman who came from the Heaven brought his horses to the Li River. An artist happened to see those horses and wanted to draw them. Unlucky, the horses were so frightened that all of them ran into the hill and never came out again. So people always say that it is difficult to recognize the exact image for each horse because the horses were from the Heaven.

Yellow Cloth Shoal
Yellow Cloth Shoal is about 60 kilometers away from Guilin. It is about 500 meters downstream southward from the Mural Hill. The peaks of it become steeper, and the water wider and calmer, so the reflection of a huge yellow flagstone can be seen clearly on the limpid water. It looks like a yellow cloth wearing there; therefore it goes the name of "Yellow Cloth Shoal". On both sides of the river, there are seven peaks in various gestures and sizes. They look like seven elegant and graceful fairy maids. So they get a beautiful name--Seven Celestial Sisters Coming Down to Earth. There is also a legend about them. Once they are seven fairy maids came from the Heaven. When they visited the Li River, all of them were deeply attracted by the beautiful scenery. When the god asked them to go back to the Heaven, but all of them refused to do that. At last, they turned into seven stone peaks standing along the Li River. Yellow Cloth Shoal is the best place for visitors to see the green mountains and the limpid water.
