| The Wonderful Yangtze River Cruise |

Yesterday night, I felt not so comfortable before my boarding on Victoria. Entering into the deluxe 5-star Victoria Prince's cabin with private balcony, I had a shower in the elegant marble bathroom. Then I have a dinner with my friends in the luxuriant hall. Splendid as it was, the waitress' smile and satisfactory services lessened my tiredness at once. Decorated with European classic interior and soothing, the ship took visitors into a sweet night dream except for, in the night darkness, few tiny lamps sparkling around river bank.

There is no signpost on the sea.
In the morning, I got up very early as others and leisurely sat at the front deck table to have a view of the sunrise on my Yangtze River Cruise. As the Victoria Prince going on, a little purple light slowly tipped out of peaks ahead; just after a cup of coffee, the purple light became brighter and brighter into a yellow light. Whilst unnoticed before, the water wore a piece of golden cloth. Suddenly, a giant sun in bright-red color rushed out of the mountains; we could not see the haze any more which just veiled our Victoria a few seconds before. At this moment, almost every visitors stand up lying against the rails to witness the great Chinese painting scroll.

I know quite not so much of Three Gorges of Yangtze River before. By the English cruise guide speaking, I get to know something of China's Mother River. The Three Gorges consist of Qutang Gorge, Wu Gorge and Xiling Gorge, extending 193 kilometers along the Yangtze River. Qutang Gorge is the shortest but enjoys the most spectacular scenery in the three Gorges, only 8 kilometers. Between Qutang and Xiling Gorge, Wu Gorge enjoys the most elegant scenery. It's 44km long and quite deep, with a number of named peaks along the path, like a beautiful nature painting. Xiling Gorge is the longest, at 66 kilometers, with several dangero rapids. It is the most dangerous one.

Sailing through the river, everything seemed to be a part of the long scroll of Chinese ink painting. Dense forests, luxuriant herbs, limpid water, steep cliffs, massive veins and hugged rags compose a grandiose symphony. What is the grandest scenery? Three Gorges, I have no hesitation to say, is my answer. Sometimes you will hit upon several lovely monkeys on the road of shore excursion. They seem to not afraid of you; as you are absent in mind, your hat has been hung on a tall tree by the monkey's joke. Climbing up several hundreds of steps, I walk into the Ghost city Fengdu which was built 1,200 years ago in Tang Dynasty. In China's tales, people will come into hell after their death. A lot of horrible ghost statues were built around the hell world. Fortunately it is in day time, otherwise we would be tremendously frightened up without any possibility of going back.
