China has a long history of fermenting alcohol. According to historical record, Chinese people began to ferment alcohol even in 5,000 years ago. Many Chinese alcohols are made from grains and herbs and are distilled to high concentration. Traditional Chinese wines are rarely made of fruits. Chinese wines from southern China are mostly made of rice; those from northern China are mostly made of wheat and sorghum.
Chinese Alcohol has close connection with Chinese culture. Chinese alcohol has made its great contribution to the development of Chinese art, business, social life, and entertainment in the long period of Chinese history.
According to the custom of modern commercial, Chinese alcohol can be divided into five categories, namely, white wine, yellow wine, wine, beer, and blended wine.
White Wine: White wine is the most famous and popular wine in China. This kind of wine is very strong and is always served in grand banquets to show importance. The most famous brands of white wine are Maotai in Guizhou Province, Xifeng in Shaanxi Province and Fenjiu in Shanxi Province. According to scientist research, the white wine can make a female become more and more beautiful if she keeps drinking a little cup of white wine with Chinese wolfberry in it every morning.
Yellow Wine: Yellow wine is the earliest beverage wine in China. Originating in China, yellow wine has been regarded as one of the three oldest varieties of alcoholic beverage in the world (the other two being grape wine and beer). The history of the Chinese Yellow Wine can be dated back to the Spring and Autumn Period (770-476BC). China's yellow wine is produced in many places, and therefore not only has many names but also tastes differently. But among the many different types, it is the Shaoxing wine that is recognized by the world winemaking industry as the quintessential Chinese Yellow Wine.
