Over 60 years has passed since the new China was born. Still there are a lot of living stories worthy to be recollected by most Chinese. The most accurate description can be given to this memorable period as "The time has all gone away". Really, many Chinese people especially those who were born in 1970' could never forget that simple but interesting childhood life even up to now.

In 1980', they were probably just the students in primary school or in junior high school. Although everything seemed to be new and unfathomable to them when the policy of "Opening and Reforming" was adopted by Chinese government, the new fashions and western living style became more and more acceptable to many young people.

A lot of things they can talk about and a lot of things they can try to do again like women beginning to wear red colored skirt on street. Chinese people search for their living not only for revolution as before but also for themselves.

But China was still very young at that moment; most of them were still having a simple life. A young male can be easily accepted by his girlfriend's family as long as he owned only a TV set, a refrigerator and a washing machine. Even if a worker's one-month-salary is no more than 100RMB, he can still save up his whole family's life. All in all, everything was very cheap at that time.
Foreigners are still very strange towards Chineses in 1980'
Running private business or watching foreign films was not regarded as modeling "bourgeoisie living style"any more; they could enter into a wedding ceremony hall wearing western coat or white skirt without any hesitation. But sometimes they may feel quite strange towards those authentic foreign concepts like "living separately with one's parents" which they can not understand.
Disco dance is extraordinarily loved by young people
In 1980', Chinese people are still making progress in many aspects. The gap between China and Western countries are becoming smaller and smaller. Under these young people's simple and not gorgeous clothes, a confident and progressive expectation is bringing up in their heart.
