After China Liberation in 1950', a couple of young people in a wedding ceremony felt a great expectation to the future.
The photo was taken in 1970'. The bride's wedding cloth spent him 78 RMB equaling with his two months' salary and the ceremony spent him 200 RMB. It was not a cheap ceremony at that time. In that revolutionary and political period, getting married was not a personal need but a revolutionary need. Wearing western cloth in a wedding ceremony was strongly prohibited for it would be considered as an admiration of bourgeoisie.
