Frescoes art is a kind of painting art in tomb rooms for displaying the owner's original life. With a concept of "life underground is the same as the life before he died", many emperors and honorable persons liked to have a great number of frescoes painted in their tombrooms in order to have the same luxuriant life in another world. So the frescoes art emerged a very long time ago.

Tang Dynasty (618AD--907AD), the most prosperous and blossoming period in ancient China, didn't demonstrate the brilliant Tang frescoes art until 1950's when these frescoes were firstly discovered.

Up to 70 Tang tombs or so became the home of Tang frescoes in Shaanxi Province. The owners of tombs are prince, princess, generals and other members of imperial families; and the content of frescoes normally described the daily life, imperial courtyards and ritual guards.
