 Foreigners visit Hutong
Since 1949 the liberation of China, there is about 1330 Hutong alleys preserved in Beijing. So a new type of breath-taking tour--Beijing Hutong Tour sprung up.

When people strolling along the old hutong, it will appear many traditional courtyards, little alleys, chatting old men and simple shops to you. The tourists like to take a pedicab viewing each hutong in a cozy way. Some tourist groups, when entering into a courtyard house, can sit down and talk with the house owners; some groups also can have a meal in a house to enjoy the Beijing local culture.

Hutong is a word means 'a well' in Mongolian language which was formed in Yuan Dynasty (13AD--14AD) in Beijing. Besides Forbidden City, Prince Houses and imperial gardens, the rest of city buildings are namely Hutong Alleys in lovely Beijing.
