| The Frescos in Yongle Palace |
With over 110-year construction period, Yongle Palace lies in Ruicheng County of Shanxi Province which was built in Yuan Dynasty (1279AD--1368AD). Being as a universally well-known art treasure house, Yong Le Palace is featured by its great acreage of Daoism frescos of Yuan Dynasty and its typical wood architectures. It is, at present, one of the most well-preserved three Daoism homes in China. The elegant Daoism frescos amounting to 1005.68 square meters covers up the every inches of interiors of Longhu Hall, Sanqing Hall, Chunyang Hall and Chongyang Hall.

The fresco art of Yongle Palace enjoys the same reputation with Mogaoku fresco art of Dunhuang. These frescos tell the stories of Daoism immortals and their pilgrimage procession whose painting technique was inherited from traditional Chinese painting. A lot of figures were created by craftsmen's fluent strokes and splendid colors; these figures vary from each other by their age, characters and expressions. Except for the scarlet color and gold-material color, the dominion color used on frescos is turquoise indicating God's solemn and tranquility in heaven.

The frescos in Sanqing Hall depict a grand pilgrimage occasion of Daoism immortals. One its shrine flanks and walls from east, west and north side, the eight 3-meter-high lead deities were circled around by four layers of other over 280 immortals composing a long procession which includes imposing emperors, mighty marshals and pure maidens. The visitors will fall into the immortals world as though it is really happened when they are at the sight of the processions.
