Transportation

    There are two international airports altogether which are located separately far away. It is better to confirm the correct name of the  airport you will arrive at or depart from; otherwise it's hard to recover the matters again.

    Don't buy the airline ticket at airport, it's much expensive. You'd better buy the discounted ticket in advance ( normally discount 40%--60% off, much cheaper ) as the ticket price fluctuates daily; and it will be much cheaper when you buy it in low seasons.

    Before you get on a taxi, make a prior deal with driver at first. If time permits, you can ask locals the about-price of your route then look for a taxi. When you just take a taxi charged only by price-counting machine, the driver will always take you to the destination round and round that you can not estimate.

    Be ware of some drivers charging foreign customers  twice of the normal price.

    Taking a metro line is an easy way to travel through Shanghai, but you need to read a correct direction from station board. If you want to take 2 or 3 lines once, you can buy a round-trip ticket saving time and money.

Sceneries

A lot of old photos, books, film posters and utensils 60 or 70 years ago are sold along the street. Even they are very cheap 20-30 RMB each, they are in fact imitations and the real one is fairly expensive.

 It is happened that many celebrities' former residences sit in Shanghai but close each other like Jang-kai-sheik's. So you can have a view of many places in the itinerary. 
 
Useful Information

    The taxi starting price is 10 RMB; and 2 RMB per kilometer. The type of taxi is normally Santana or Shari a bit better than those of other cities.                

    The Pudong international airport shuttle service is about 20-30 RMB according to the different destinations and the shuttle intervals are normally 15-30 minutes.
