Transportation, Sceneries and Meal

    The ticket price of airport bus is 25 RMB from airport to Xian city center which is much cheaper than that of taxi (120 RMB in the same distance).

    The golden traveling period in Xian is spring and autumn; but you'd better avoid of the International Labor's Day ( March 1--7 ) and National day of China ( October 1--7 ). 

     A two-day tour is a good choice: one day for city tour including Bell Tower, City Wall, Wild Goose Pagoda and Great Mosque and another day for Terra Cotta Army. One-day tour may be a little busy.

     In summer, the sunlight is very strong and air is very dry. You'd better take the sun-glasses and hat; a sweater is good to take for morning and evening.

     The night entertainment is really rich: the Dumpling Banquet and Tang Dance & Song Show is the best but booking in advance is needed; or you can walk along the Moslem street as well as tasting some local specialties. 

    Don't stay at the bustling places such as railway station, crowed street and store longer in case of thief and robbery

    The food is of a great variety and rather cheap, but pay attention to the dishes cooked with pepper and salt as the dishes' flavor here is a bit hot for tourists.

Useful Information

     Taxi price: Starting price 6 RMB and 1.5 RMB per kilometer and a higher price after 10 o'clock at night. From south to north suburb of Xian city is about 20 RMB 

    Bus price: Normal bus is 1 RMB in whole distance and air-conditioned bus is 2 RMB. Most of the bus ticket is automatically sold, so the exchange of 1 RMB before getting on the bus is needed. The bus usually off the working after 8:30 o'clock at night.
