Anhui, originally built at Qing Dynasty, is an inner land city which is close to the economic zone in Yangtze River Delta. It covers an area of 130,000 square kilometers with a population of 59million. Two rivers traverse the province, one is Yangtze River, and the other one is Huai River. Hefei is its provincial capital city.
It is an important source of Chinese civilization. Some historical sites, such as the site of "ape-man in Heyuan County" prove that people began to live in this area in primitive times. The province is rich in natural resources such as forests, plants, animals and aquatic products. It is also the hometown of a lot of celebrities, including the first Chinese Nobel Prize winner Dr.YangZhenning. In 1998, Hefei, Huangshan and Bozhou are recognized as excellent tourist cities.
Anhui is one of the provinces with rich tourism resources. Mount Hunangshan is a famous scenic spot designated by World Culture and Nature Heritage Organization.
