Huangshan city is an elegant city with mountains and lakes around: Mount Huangshan and Peace Lake to the north, Thousand Islands Lake to the east, Qiyun Mountain and Penglai Immortals Cave to the west. The city is in the south of Anhui province.

Huangshan International Tourist Festival is held annually in October. On this special occasion, there are grand folklore performances, Huangshan Calligraphy by Famous Persons, Painting and Photographic Exhibition, Huangshan ancient folklore and tours to visit local residents and other activities at the foot of Huangshan Mountain.

The city is noted for four treasures of study (writing brush, ink stick, ink slabs and paper). Maofeng tea is among the 10 most famous tea in China. Bamboo carvings and potted landscapes in Huizhou are also well known. Hui-style dish is one of Chinese eight branches of dishes.

Mount Huangshan is the most famous scenic spots in Huanshan city. It is reputed to be "the best mountain under Heaven".
