Mount Huangshan
Mount Huangshan which attracts large number of tourists every year stands on the south of Anhui province and covers an area of 250
square kilometers. It has been recorded into World Heritage List. It is also the representative of Chinese famous mountains and known as "No.1 Mountain under Heaven". Three main peaks are Lotus Peak (the highest, 1864m), Bright Top (the flatest) and Tiandu Peak (the most perilous) and tourists can have a bird view of the three peaks by cableway.
There are four symbolic sightseeing on Huangshan Mountain: unusual pines, strange rocks, sea of clouds and hot springs. Many Huangshan pines grow crooked and even downward with branches on one side only, for the uneven terrain prevents the pines from growing upright. Due to the strong root which is much longer than the trunk, they can still stand firmly with dignity against wind and rain. People give different names to each unique pine, such as Guest-Greeting Pine, Guest-Goodbye Pine and Chessboard Pine. Fantastic rocky peaks can fully arouse one's imagination for its varied shapes. The sea of clouds in Mount Huangshan is unique with its oddly shaped rocks and spectacular pines.
Sunrise and sunset are also fairly attractive. The most suitable spot to appreciate sunrise is in Cool Stage and Lion Peak of North Sea. To view sunset clouds, tourist should choose Paiyun Pavilion and Danxia Peak of West Sea.
