Fujian province is at the southeast coast of China and faces Taiwan province across Taiwan Strait. The province occupies an area of around 120,000 square kilometers with the resident population of above 34.7 million. Fuzhou is its provincial capital city.

With the special geographical condition, it plays an important role in the communication between China and the outside world and is a major hometown of overseas Chinese and Taiwan compatriots. It is an important province for forestry and fishery, boasting forest coverage of 57.3% and half of the fish species in China. Fujian is also endowed with abundant water resources and mineral deposits. The traffic is fast and convenient. There are four express highways and four railway lines connected with the railway network of the whole country. Tourists can take planes in Fuzhou, Xiamen, Wuyishan and Jinjiang. There are more than onehundredwaterlines, including direct lines from Xianmen to America.
Fujian is warm and humid all year round with sub-tropical monsoon climate characteristic. The average temperature is between 17C  and 21C . So the whole year is suitable for travelers. January is the coldest month with the average temperature of 10C ~13C  in southeast coast and 5C ~8C  in inner land. The hottest month is July with the average temperature of 26C ~29C . The annual rainfall is over 1,000mm with 240~330 day frost-free period.

Fujian Province has a long and brilliant recorded history, which dates from Warring States Period (475-221 B.C.) Many famous historical sites and beautiful natural landscapes are worth visiting. Mount Wuyi has legendary sceneries: beautiful mountains, amazing rocks and vigorous waters. Gulangyu Island is called "the Garden on the Sea" by Xiamen people. Nanputuo Temple is one of four well-known Buddhist shrines in the nation.
