Maiji Mountain Grottoes
The Maiji Mountain Grottoes are situated on southeast of Maiji Village in Tianshui city. It is like a stock of wheat piling on the ground. That is why it is called Maiji Mountain . Maiji Mountain is originally built in Latter Qin period. More than seven thousand art treasures are collected in the mountain including earthen statues and stone sculptures of 1,500 years ago. The facial expressions of these statues are vividly carved. The statues of three Moya Buddhas on the foot of Seven Buddha Qarret are about 1,400 years by now. So it is called "Oriental Sculpture Gallery ."
