Guangdong is situated in the southern part of China along the coastline. A lot of rivers and lakes flow in this province, mainly including Zhujiang River, Tong River and many artificial lakes on Pear River Delta. It covers an area of over 180,000 square kilometers with a population of 74,730,000.
The province was first set up in 1370 A.D. Anti-imperialism Opium War was the starting point of Chinese modern history as well as Chinese Democratic Revolution. As the South Gate of China, Guangdong has been open to the outside world for a long time.
