Anshun is situated at the east of Yungui Plateau (also named Guizhou and Yunnan Plateau) of China in the middle and western part of Guizhou province. The city covers an area of 9,268 square kilometers and is inhabited by a population of 2.40 million of the Han, Miao, Buyi, Tong, yi, Gelao, Tujia, Hui, Zhuang and Yao nationalities.
Due to its geological location, it has been the "the stomach of Qian (abbreviation for Guizhou province), the throat of Dian (abbreviation for Yunnan province), the lips and teeth of Shu Yue (abbreviation for Sichuan and Guangdong province respectively) for many years.
Many travelers come here for its world famous Huangguoshu waterfall , the largest waterfall in both China and Arias and the marvelous Dragon Palace, good place for one to see the beauty and curiosity of the Karst terrain.
