The city of Zhengzhou is the political, economic and cultural center, as well as the capital city of Henan Province. Zhengzhou covers an area of 7,446 square kilometers and is inhabited by a population of 5.97 million. It is also a major hub of railway transportation in China. Zhengzhou has reputation as the "Green City of Central Plains" with 35.5 percent of its area planted with trees and other green plants.

Zhengzhou is the famous commercial & trading city throughout the country. Many of the large-sized commercial facilities and wholesale markets have been constructed in the city. It also abounds in mineral resources, including coal and cement rock. Major industries are textile, machinery, tobacco, nonferrous metal metallurgy, chemical, building materials, food and coal. Among them, textile industry and aluminum metallurgy industry are the ones of China's important industrial centers. As regard to agriculture, there are wheat, corn, cotton and tobacco.

Zhengzhou has a long history, having taken shape as early as 3,500 years ago as the capital of the Shang Dynasty. The most famous tourist attractions of this city include the Shaolin Temple , a place to know more about the Shaolin Martial Art and the Frost of Pagodas , where tourists can know more about the ancient Chinese architecture.
