C . Due to its frozen weather in winter, Harbin can hold the world famous Harbin Snow and Ice Festival every year.
The festival usually falls on January 5 th and lasts for nearly a month annually. The festival, with its uniqueness attracts both local residents and visitors from all over the world every year.
The city boasts its magnificent and artistic ice and snow sculptures, carvings, and buildings in parks and on frozen rivers. World famous monuments like some grand cathedrals, pyramids, Potala Palace and the Great Wall are all carved out of ice in large size. Some of them, embedded with colored lights, are designed for evening observation. Ice sledding and skiing are popular and exciting activities in the festival.
