Local customs
Since ancient times, Mongolians got world-famous for proficient horse riding and archery. So it is also called "the ethnic group on horseback." After Yuan Dynasty is established, in order to consolidate the governing foundation, the ruler made the regulation that Mongolian man must possess the skills of horse-racing, wrestling and archery. They are three skills of Mongolian men. This became a standard to measure Mongolian man's ability at that time.

The horse-racing activity scene on the grassland is very splendid. The horsemen wearing luxurious clothes with dazzlingly beautiful scarf raise the whip and jump the horse, showing skills respectively. Cheers and horses' hoof sound spread all over the grassland.

The Mongols' wrestling is originally military sports mainly used to build a strong body and train skills. Like selecting competent person in Central Plains of ancient times, strong Mongolian men can get promotion by wrestling race. The outstanding winner of wrestling race could obtain great honor at that time.

The archery is one of the Mongols' traditional sports events. It is used for going hunting and fighting originally. It is a strong weapon of northern ethnic minorities.

Eating and Accommodation
Mongolians life on the prairie has distinct ethnic features. They live in yurts, drink milky tea, eat mutton, roast lamb leg, and roast whole lamb, boiled milk skin and cheese.

The Mongolian yurt is a round, portable, self-supporting structure suitable for camping. It relies on walls, rafters, roof ring, and tensioning bands to hold it up. With marvelous physics and engineering, yurt can be set up without thinking about moving or falling. In hot summer, the yurt stays relatively cool all day.
