Humble Administrator's Garden
The Humble Administrator's Garden is one of the most top four gardens in China . It is a typical private Chinese garden featuring meandering creeks, beautiful pavilions, rustic rockeries and so on. The Humble Administrator's garden is famous for its tranquil waters and elegant buildings.

The garden with a total area of 51,950 square meters is divided into three parts namely the eastern part, the middle and the western part. It is the largest classical gardens in Suzhou . The garden is a representative of Chinese classical gardens in the Ming Dynasty, which are focused on a central pond with pavilions, terraces, chambers and towers nearby.

The garden is also famous for its lotus flowers. The lotus flowers in the garden are beautiful and thick. The creeks are meandering through the thick lotus flowers everyday from May to November. The scenery always makes feel people comfortable and romantic.

There are altogether 48 different buildings, 101 parallels and door plateaus, 40 steles, 21 precious old trees as well as many other scenic spots in the garden.

Tiger Hill
One may think that the Tiger Hill is just a little hill that of no interest, but it is, as a matter of fact, a classical Chinese garden in Suzhou . The Tiger Hill (Huqiu) is one of the most famous sights in the city of Suzhou . There are many Tiger Hillold trees and cultural relics in the garden: the Sword Testing Stone, the Broken Beam Hall, the Thousand Men Rock, the Sword Pond, etc.

This is the smallest garden in Suzhou , only one-tenth the size of the Humble Administrator's Garden, the largest garden in Suzhou . The hill is 36 meters high and is set in a 20-hectare park. The millennium-old Yunyan Pagoda, also known as the Leaning Tower , stands on top of the hill and is regarded as the symbol of Suzhou . Near the Yunyan Pagoda is the burial place of the founding father of Suzhou city, King He Lu, who died in 600 B.C. It was said that a white tiger occasionally appeared to guard the tomb of He Lu, hence the name for the hill, Tiger Hill. The sword-testing stone is also very interesting. It has a split within it, said to be cracked by He Lu, who tested all his swords on the stone. Another spot is the Tiger Hill Pagoda. It has been leaning since its completion in 961 A.D. In the 20th century, it finally split and had to be re-constructed. The tilt has now reached over two meters. Concrete piles have been driven into the ground around the pagoda in order to reinforce the foundation.

One of the most famous poets in Song Dynasty, Sushi once said that "It's a pity of a lifetime if you have been to Suzhou but missed the Tiger Hill." So do not forget to visit Tiger Hill, when traveling in Suzhou.

Tongli Ancient Town
Tongli Ancient TownTongli Ancient town is located on the eastern shore of Taihu Lake , just 18 kilometers from the coty of Suzhou . Tongli town covers an area of 63 square kilometers and is inhabited by a population of more than 33,000. Tongli is one of the most famous ancient towns in Jiangnan (south of the Yangtze River ). Originally named Fushi, Tongli is an age-old but very well preserved water township. The history of Tongli can be dated back to more than 1,000 years ago.

Since it is a water town then bridges are definitely the vital links of the ancient towns. Tongli is divided into seven islands by fifteen rivers and five lakes, which run through the ancient town. There are altogether fo rty-nine stone bridges in a variety of styles, which join the seven islands together. Each bridge has a poetic name, which add more interest to the ancient town. Tongli is also famous for its unique resident house. It enjoys the reputation of "a museum of ancient Chinese architecture". There are a great number of houses and temples the history of which can be dated back to the Ming Dynasty and the Qing Dynasty. The houses and temples were built along the riversides and decorated with flying eaves, carved windows, porcelain furniture, clay-figured bricks, dapper gardens and small stairs leading down to the water.

In the year 1982 Tongli was put into the list of protection as the standard provincial town of cultural interest in Jiangsu Province . Tongli is now a highly praised historical site and tourist resort in China.

Zhouzhuang Town
Zhouzhuang, the Number one water town in China is situated in Kunshan City , which is only 30 kilometers southeast of Suzhou . It Zhouzhuang Townis one of the most famous water towns in China . Zhouzhuang is reputed for its profound cultural background, the well preserved ancient residential houses, the elegant watery views and the traditions and customs with strong local colour.

The history of Zhouzhuang can be dated back to the Spring and Autumn Period (770 - 476 BC). In the year 1,086 during the Northern Song Dynasty (960 - 1127), Zhouzhuang got its present name. Zhou was once the hometown of Shen Wansan, the Number one millionaire in the period of the Ming Dynasty of Jiangnan (south of the Yangtze River ).

Zhouzhuang is world famous for its ancient bridges, unique ancient residences as well towers and temples around it. There are altogether 14 stone bridges which serve as the transportation means of the ancient water town. Every bridge has its name and its own feature. Of all the bridges, the most famous ones are Shuanqiao Bridge and Fuan Brigge. Of all the residences in Zhouzhuang, the most famous ones are Zhang's House and Shen's House. The Milo Tower and Chengxu Taoist Temple are also of great value.

Luzhi Town
Luzhi TownThe town of Luzhi is located in Wuzian City and is 18 kilometers away from Suzhou . Luzhi is one of the most famous ancient water towns in Jiangnan (south of Yangtze River ). The town covers an area of 50 square kilometers and is inhabited by a population of 50,000. The transportation in Luzhi is very convenient. Transpiration by land, water and air leads to everywhere. Suzhou-Shanghai Airport Highway goes through it.

Luzhi has numerous cultural relics under the protection of the State Council. The most famous scenes in the town are Clean Wind of the Duck Pond, Fengshu Clean Spring, Wusong Snow Wave, Futu Setting Sun, Changhong Moon Reflections, Lamps on Lotus Leaves and Xihui Market. Like Zhouzhuang and Tongli, Luzhi is also famous for its numerous ancient bridges and plenty of waters. The one-square-kilometer town proper once had 72.5 bridges, 41 of which still exist, each having its unique design.

Luzhi is really a peaceful and pristine land. Beautiful water, elegant stone bridges, and miraculous culture make here a paradise to tourists both home and abroad.
