Liaoning Province is at the southern part of northeast China. It occupies an area of 150,000 square kilometers with a population of 40 million. As a key link between China's northeast area and Bohai Sea Rim area, it overlooks the Bohai and Yellow Sea in the south, and faces Korea across Yalu River. Thus, the province is often called "the golden triangle".
According to historical records, people started their community life 5,000 years ago in Liaoning. Owing to its strategic position as the Golden Triangle, Liaoning is the birthplace of warlords and the cradle of Qing Dynasty culture. This feudal dynasty was established by invading Manchus from 1644 to 1911. That is why there are still architectures in Manchu style today.
As an important trade center, it also has rich historical resources. Imperial Palace in Shenyang, the most intact imperial architecture existing in China, is secondary only to Forbidden City in Beijing. It was completed by Huangtaiji in 1636. Dalian is a popular resort town for tourists to escape from heat due to its delicate climate. Jinshitan Scenic Area is a beautiful national scenic park. Lushun is a National Key Scenic Spot and National Nature Protection Area with rich natural resources and historical heritage.
