It has plentiful natural resources and is an important base of fruit and water product. The flourishing coastal city is also a famous "soccer city" and the "home of track and field."As a major industrial producer, Dalian is connected by pipeline to Daqing oil field. The port has many handicraft factories of glassware and shell mosaics.

Lushun is a National Key Scenic Spot and National Nature Protection Area. Jinshitan Scenic Area is a national scenic park with a lot of natural wonders.
