Dumpling Banquet Tang Dynasty Dinner Show
  Yang Rou Pao Mao

Dumpling Banquet
DumplingsChinese dumpling has a long history and is an essential part of celebratory meals such as those prepared for the Chinese Lunar New Year.

Ingredients for the dumpling fillings include various meats, vegetables, and seasonings. Cooking methods include steaming, boiling, pan-frying, deep- frying, and roasting. Many flavors, including salty, sweet, hot, and sour are offered. Other house specialties include Peking dumplings, steamed sweet bean paste buns, steamed shrimp paste buns, and various uniquely spiced dishes. The guests are served with elegant names and stories attached to each kind of dumpling. It is now considered to be as much a work of art as a tasty morsel.

De Fa Chang Dumpling Restaurant next to Tong Sheng Xiang, in Xi'an Bell and Drum Tower Square is worth recommending most.

Tang Dynasty Dinner Show

Tang Dynasty (618-907 A. D.) was the climax of China's development in music and dance. Tang Dynasty Dinner Show is a performance of Chang'an music and dance originated in China's Tang Dynasty over a thousand years ago. It has been recreated according to all kinds of historical records as well as ancient art and relics discovered in Xi'an , the capital of the empire during Tang Dynasty.

The show is performed by the Tang Dynasty Song & Dance Troupe, a branch of the Shaanxi Provincial Song & Dance Troupe. Elegance and dignity are the major characteristic. The musicians present the music with Tang-Dynasty-style musical instruments and the dancers wear Tang dynasty-style robes with long white silk sleeves. This type of performance has been treasured as the national art that reflects the brilliance and prosperity of Tang Dynasty.

There are two theaters where you can enjoy the show. One is Shaanxi Grand House; the other is The Tang Dynasty, Xian.

Yang Rou Pao Mo
Yang Rou Pao MoYang Rou Pao Mo can be interpreted as pancake cubes soaked in mutton soup. It is a soup dish that is made up of breaking wheat flour flat bread and mutton broth. Before dinner, wheat flour flat bread will be broke into tiny chunks by fingers, the smaller the better. The waiter or the waitress will then hand the bowl to the cook who mixes the bread and mutton soup with an appropriate relish. It is usually served with sweet crisp pickled garlic, coriander, and hot pepper sauce.

Tong Sheng Xiang Beef and Lamb Paomo Restaurant, in Xi'an Bell and Drum Tower Square , is the best place to taste such flavor.
