Situated in Southwestern China, Yunnan Province covers a total area of 394,000 square kilometers, accounting for 4.1% of China's total land territory and ranking the 8th in China. Yunnan Province has a population of 42,359,000, of which the 25 minorities take up over 14 million. Respectively bordering Myanmar in the west and Laos and Viet Nam in the south, Yunnan shares a boundary line of 4,060 kilometers with Myanmar in the west and Laos and Viet Nam in the south.

Its capital city is Kunming - known as a city of Spring, for the weather is always like spring. It is blessed with the best weather because of its altitude of 1,894 meters and its subtropical location.

The most interesting and popular tourist attractions in Yunnan include the Stone Forest, Golden Temple and Dianchi Lake in Kunming, its capital and the Erhai Lake and Mountain Cangshan in Dali.
